Anti-wrinkle injections are prescription only medications that can be used for both medical and cosmetic purposes. Anti-wrinkle injections act on the nerves of targeted muscles to reduce their strength and ability to contract. It can also affect exocrine glands such as sweat and tear glands to reduce their function. Over time, nerves of affected muscles and glands will adapt to the effects of anti-wrinkle injections and eventually restore its full function, and is why the effects of anti-wrinkle treatments are only temporary.
Generally speaking patients may notice the start of treatment effects in 2-4 days. However it can take up to 2 weeks for the full effects to take effect. If by 2 weeks there are any concerns, please get in touch with your treating doctor.

At Dr J. Aesthetics we value honesty, transparency, professionalism, and patient centred care. Cosmetic Treatments can provide great results that can enrich some individual's sense of confidence and wellbeing, but should still be appreciated as a medical procedure with their own set of risks and benefits. The world of cosmetic injectables is unfortunately still a relatively poorly standardised industry, and is why we encourage all those who are considering cosmetic injectables to ask questions and challenge their injectors to demonstrate they have the knowledge and expertise to provide cosmetic injectables in a safe and skillful manner.
Updated TGA rules now prohbit previously endorsed methods of listing pricing information on certain types of anti-wrinkle injectables.
Treatment type selection is highly individulised and best discussed over a New Patient or Follow-Up Cosmetic Consultation.
