AviClear is designed to be delivered as a set of three treatment sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Your treating doctor will design a personalised treatment plan in the short, medium, and long term in conjunction with any other treatments based on the severity of your acne, treatment goals, personal preference, and individual characteristics. There may be special circumstances where fewer or more treatments are required. In either case we would allow for at least 6 to 12 months after the last treatment to give enough time for the full effects to kick in before re-evaluating. 

Studies on Aviclear show that noticeable improvements are generally seen 3 months after the last treatment, but the bulk of improvement is seen at 6 and 12 months after the last treatment. In the original clinical trials, 92% of patients treated with AviClear saw at least half of their acne resolve at 12 months following their last treatment. 

AviClear is equipped with exclusive AviCool™ skin cooling and sensory controls that maintain our skin’s temperature during treatment for a more comfortable experience. During treatment, you may notice a slight snapping sensation that is generally reported as a mild discomfort. In clinical studies, patients tolerated the treatment well without the need for pain mitigation or stopping the treatment session.

Unlike many conventional treamtents, AviClear is suitable for all skin types (dry to oily) and skin tones (all Fitzpatrick skin types). 

Best of all, AviClear is the first non-medication treatment approved to treat severe acne.

During the treatment session, patients may experience some mild discomfort from the delivery of the laser. Patients may experience some redness and inflammation in the treated areas. However these are typically mild and will usually resolve within a few hours after the treatment session, and less commonly over a day or two.

In very rare cases, some patients may experience temporary darkening (hyperpigmentation) or (lightening) hypopigmentation in the treated areas. 

During your consultation, your doctor will discuss these potential side effects in more detail and address any specific concerns you may have.

Treatment fee is $1100 per treatment session.

AviClear is remotely restricted by the manufacturer to provide a limited number of shots over a limited treatment time period for every treatment session. We can comfortably treat the face and jawline area with one treatment session. However if we need to treat the entire neck down to the collarbone, then an additional session is likely required (either back to back or on another day). Similarly for the back and shoulder acne, the number of "treatment sessions" required will depend on the area affected. Multiple sessions on the same day will be at a reduced price. A major benefit of AviClear Laser is the fairly simple recovery and minimal downtime associated with the treatment. 

It will be essential to apply a physical SPF50+ daily and avoid excessive sun and heat exposure after your treatment to help protect and support healing of your skin. You will need to avoid makeup, exfoliants and most cosmeceutical actives such as retinoids, vitamin C, and similar active for a period of time after your treatment. 

Your treating doctor will provide personalised instructions and recommendations on how best to keep your skin moistursied to facilitate healing without occluding the skin, and direct your on reintroducing actives as part of your consultation.
