• Modern dermal fillers are generally made with hyaluronic acid, a type of complex sugar molecule which will naturally dissolve over time, or can be dissolved medically with hyaluronidase. 
• Once injected, dermal fillers will integrate with your own tissue and are designed to draw water towards it to build volume. The degree to which it expands and how flexible it is will vary between individual products.
• Similarly, how long dermal fillers will remain in place will vary significantly between individual products, and based on individual characteristics. Generally speaking they are expected to last between 6 to 18 months. Please feel free to discuss with your injector about the products selected for you.
